Appeals and Hearings
The nature of litigation that could possibly occur involving individuals and the immigration authorities may be classified as appeals and hearings. An appeal refers to making an earnest request for vindication or confirmation of an undesired assessment made by the immigration authorities at the Immigration and Refugee Board or before a superior authority such as the Federal Court of Canada. A Hearing refers to matters that are normally conducted by the immigration authorities with respect to an individual, such as admissibility hearings and detention reviews.
