Basic Requirements
Persons may be prohibited entrance to Canada on any of the following causes, which are defined in Sections 34 to 43 of the Immigration And Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Protection Regulations:
- Security grounds
- Violating human or international rights
- Serious criminality
- Criminality
- Organized criminality
- Health grounds
- Financial reasons
- Misrepresentation
- Non-compliance with the Act or Regulations
- An inadmissible family member
These conditions and certain release of obligations are directed to all permanent residents, foreign nationals and protected persons in varied ways.
